In Memory of the late
Dr. Janet L. Jordan
Bishop and Chair of the Board
Higher Calling Ministries, Inc.

The late Dr. Jordan has served as an ordained minister of the Gospel since 1988. She was a national motivational speaker and workshop leader, her ministry and leadership has made a difference in the lives of thousands.

A dynamic yet humble servant of the Lord, Janet is used mightily in the prophetic and apostolic areas of the five fold ministry. Today's Proverbs 31 Women has served as a catalyst for building and encouraging women as well as their ministries globally.  The Lord also uses her in the Corporate arena to build businesses for His Glory.  Virtual Assistance U, a global virtual training & outreach center for victims of domestic violence, was nominated as one of the fastest growing businesses in Fast Company magazine in 2005.  She also is part of a feature article in Black Enterprise Magazine's Nov 05 issue focusing on the Virtual Assistance industry.

The late Bishop Janet (Langford) moved to Dallas in 1991 from San Antonio where she was a member of the ministerial leadership team for her home church.  In 1999, she married another servant and minister, Sylvester Jordan.  They were both consecrated as Bishops in 2000.

Assisting  the presiding prelate for the ministry, her major responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of the wedding division which is part of our evangelism outreach.
  • Chairman of the Board for the Corpus Christi Texas based tax exempt organization and foundation
  • President of Virtual Assistance U (Outreach Center)
  • Counselor to the women ministers and pastors.
  • Leader of Today's Proverbs 31 Women ministry.

The late Bishop Jordan was an anointed Prophetess,  Psalmist and Workshop leader with a nurturing, uplifting approach.
